ElectionBuddy understands that the administrator in charge of vote management can change from year to year. To ease the process of handing over an account, you can update the account and profile-specific information.

Changing Your Account Information
To change your account information, select My Profile from your Account menu.
Updating Your Email, Name, or Job Title/Role
- Make any required changes on the Edit Profile screen
- Enter your Current Password and click Update.
If you receive an error message that: “This email is being used by another administrator, to transfer the account, contact us.”, please, reach out to support@electionbuddy.com so we can assist in transferring the ownership of your account.
Changing Your Password
- Enter the new password in the New Password field
- Repeat the password in the Confirm New Password field.
- Select Update to complete the changes.
Changing Your Billing Email Address
When changing the email associated with your ElectionBuddy account, the billing email does not automatically update.
- Click on the messenger feature located in the bottom right of the support article to send us a message to complete the request on your behalf.
Transferring an Organization to a Current Administrator
To transfer ownership of the Account and All organizations connected to the account, you can change the account email by Updating or Changing Account Information. Avoid adding the new owner as an additional administrator first, when possible.
If they're already an administrator you can transfer organization(s) to them using the Transfer button located under the "Administrator" section of your account.
Cancelling Your Account
Ensure that you have everything you need from your account before you cancel it, as accounts are unable to be recovered, including votes or results associated with the account, once deleted.
To cancel your account, select the Cancel My Account link. You will be prompted to confirm the cancellation.
